Working in video production at Google Cloud for the past 4.5 years has been one of the most rewarding work experiences I’ve ever had.
I’ve been really thinking about how I’m going to break it to people but at this point enough people know so..
I’ve quit my role at Google Cloud for the last time* and my last day will be on August 17, 2021.
I feel a calling to explore new ways of monetizing and creating content online and I believe that I can accomplish that more freely outside of my 9-5 constraints.
I feel uniquely positioned to explore the new post-2020 virtual world and I owe it to my kids to make sure that this new world values authenticity and freedom of expression.
*I’ve quit Google three times but that’s a story for another day. It’s a funny one and shows why it really is one of the best companies to work for.
I know it gets a bad rap but my reasons for needing to leave each time were because Filmkik (my agency) was growing too fast and I just didn’t have enough hours in the day for both.
Each time I quit was hard and as the actual end date gets closer, I know I’m going to look back at my time as a producer there as a pivotal moment in my career.
I’m better for having been there.
